Tonight Josh and I celebrated five years in New York City by making a pilgrimage to the Upper East Side, where we lived in our first New York apartment, and had dinner at the Chinese restaurant we often frequented while UES denizens.
Afterward we sat on the steps of the Met for a while--the same steps we'd sat on five years earlier, almost to the hour, on the first night we'd arrived in NYC with one-way plane ticket stubs in hand. (Click photo to enlarge.)
Still here, kiddos, and raising a glass to the next five years.

Congrats guys! Do you plan on staying there forever? YOu should both definitely consider coming to London next :)

Five YEARS? I can't believe it's been that long. I've enjoyed all the episodes of Joshes and the City.

Congratulations! I was born and raised in NYC (W 72nd between Broadway and West End) and love the place to this day even though I made my career elsewhere. I'm in the City ten or twelve times a year for opera and theater and love to hear the stories of those who've been drawn to it and made a go of it there. My best to you both on the next phase of your adventure.

It makes me happy to see that you are, and to know of your ongoing adventures. Never heard of you before tonight but I'd love to hear more of your personal journey.
