Yesterday at work I was talking with my boss and, before we got down to business at a meeting, he leaned across the table conspiratorially.
"Did you hear that Britney Spears is selling her condo next door?" he asked.
I had no idea that she even had a condo in the neighborhood. He pointed out the building where Little Miss Spears has her condo (soon to be "had her condo").
Apparently, now that she's married to Kevin Federline, she won't be needing a pad in a city of culture, diversity, and cosmopolitan life anymore. Remember when she used to look like this, and not like a trailer trash crack whore, pre-Spederline?
It's so funny living in a city where Britney Spears can call the building next door "home." (Or one of them, at least.)
She's been trying to sell that apartment for at least a year (assuming you mean the one just north of Houston on Broadway).

She shouldn't be so quick to get rid of it, she's going to need someplace to hide when she finally realizes that Federline is as big of a loser as... oh... as her.
Nevermind.
Seriously, are her 15 minutes up? When is she going to disappear?

Isn't it interesting how we continue to look down on the poor, whether "white trash" or "ghetto trash," for not having the fashion knowledge or, more importantly, the money to afford better clothing.
Back when the Transit Strike was going on, everyone was condeming the workers for striking to maintain their standard of living. People were shocked that after working 30 years, someone could retire at 55. But no one was willing to also look at the fact that the average Transit worker dies at 57. More importantly, the selfish attitude that some people had that because they made less money or had fewer benefits, why should the Transit workers complain.
Absolutely nuts and horribly selfish.
Because someone is bluecollar or working class and doesn't share the same culture as others doesn't make that person worthy of derision. It simply makes that person different and possessing different values. Not everyone values having a fashionable wardrobe over paying the rent or for medications because they make little money or don't have healthcare.
If more people stood up to the greedy corporate scum, then wouldn't everyone be better off?
How many of are seeing our parents lose their hard earned retirement benefits? Verizon and IBM are dumping their pension plans not because they are in financial straits but just as a way to jigger the books. Bigger profits will mean better bonus' for the executives. If your in top management making millions, you don't have to worry about a pension or healthcare.
Just a few years ago, 60% of Americans workers were covered by defined pension plans. That number has dropped to 13%. How do you think that will affect most of when we retire? Do you really trust that your 401K will be able to cover rent, food, healthcare, etc.? How many people saw their 401Ks hit back in 2000? It's taken 5 years for the market to recover.
That's my rant. Lay off the poor and working class. Be grateful you have a job today because you might not have one tomorrow. If you're one of those people who kids himself that he's invaluable to his employer, you're nuts. Everyone is expendable and downsizable just as everyone who is young, healthy and pretty today will be older, grayer, and less healthy tomorrow (if you're lucky enough to live long enough).

WOW....Will certainly had a lot on his mind.....And you're right, she was MUCH better off before she met Federline. I am not sure why she had a pad in NYC anyway... She never really spends that much time there.

Holy socio-economic dialogue, Batman. Yeah, you know, all that union stuff is true. Love it. Marxism with a bow on it.
The point of the post, however, was to poke fun at Miss Spears and her unsellable condo. "Trailer trash" when applied to a woman with $50 million is entirely different than talking about union workers or other underprivileged Americans.
So, you know, sometimes you just gotta enjoy the pop culture, kiddos.

Random thought, but remember her restaurant, NYLA?

Stop gossiping about Britney! How would you like it if everyone was talking about you! Leave her alone and give her space.
